NEW NOTICES
.
ST. ANDREW’S LADIES GROUP – St. Andrew’s Ladies Group will meet on Monday, April 9, 2012, at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Room.  Please note the change from our regular meeting night.  New members are always welcome.

CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETYVolunteer canvassers are needed by the Canadian Cancer Society in April. If you can help by canvassing a street in Timberlea, Lakeside or Beechville, please call Jinny Giza at 876-8510.

DIOCESAN TIMES – As Diocesan Times Correspondent, I am updating mailing addresses for those who currently receive a copy of this church paper.  If there is anyone in the congregation, who is not receiving the Diocesan Times and would like to be added to the mailing list, please let me know.  The only requirement for being added is that you are a regular giver.  Also, if anyone who now receives it, would like it discontinued you can also let me know.  Phone Wendy at 443-4630 or email: wendy.wells@ns.sympatico.ca.

YARD SALE – St. Andrew’s Ladies Group will be having a Yard Sale on April 21st from 9:00 am to 12 noon.  We will be looking for good, clean used clothing, books, toys, household items, plants, shoes, purses, etc.  We can no longer accept electronic items such as TV’s, computers and computer equipment, encyclopedias, and large furniture items, as we have no way of disposing of these if they do not sell.  For more information, contact any member of the group.

STORM POLICY – The following procedures will be implemented whenever inclement weather threatens the cancellation of church services:

  1. The Rector will call the wardens early morning to discuss

the situation.  If all agree to cancel services, the Rector and wardens will act as follows.

  1. The Rector will install an announcement on the parish   telephone voice message system.
  2. One warden will advise the radio station to make the announcement.
  3. The other warden will put the message on the parish web site.

Common sense will prevail, and parishioners are advised not to venture out on dangerous roads.  If it is not completely obvious that services would be cancelled, then parishioners can employ any or all of the above noted methods to discover whether or not services are cancelled.
*This policy was approved by council on March 8, 2012.

ONGOING NOTICES

RECTOR’S OFFICE MEMORIALS – Memorial donations towards the construction costs of the Rector’s office are now being received.  Donations in the amount of $110.00 ($100 plus $10 engraving) will allow contributors to place a memorial on a plaque to be located outside the office.  There are twenty-four spaces for memorials.  Once all spaces have been filled we will dedicate the office in memory of those identified on the plaque.  If you wish to make a donation, please see either Rev. Mike or Rev. Judie.  Thank you for your generosity

CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS AND POSTAGE STAMPS – Thank you for your continuing support of two ACW projects:  Postage stamps and Campbell’s soup labels.  The requirement for stamps have been changed:  They no longer have to have ¼” margin of envelope around them; simply tear most of the envelope away, being careful not to tear the stamp.  The soup labels have to be complete and in one piece; that is, with no staples or Scotch tape.

FOOD BANK – The St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Food Bank is always in need of canned fruit, canned meat, pasta, peanut butter, jam, crackers and pudding.  They are currently running short on the following food items:  boxes of cereal, cookies, and jello. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.
