BIBLE STUDY- Members of both the Bible Study and Book Study Groups will gather together fro a closing Pot Luck Supper on Thursday, April 26 at 6 pm.  Gordon Hamlin will show slides of Ephesus and some places in the Holy Land.  A great evening of fellowship!  Bible Study will resume in September!

MEN’S BREAKFAST – The Men’s Breakfast will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 8 am.  They would appreciate the help of 3 people to set up and 3 people for cleanup.  For more information call Don at 431-4047 or email puppadon@hotmail.com

FISH CHOWDER LUNCH – A Fish Chowder Lunch will be held on May 11th from 11 am to 2 pm.  For more information please contact Jean Schwartz.

TRIBUTE TO JOHNNY CASH – On May 11th from 7-9 pm Jim Richards will do a “Tribute to Johnny Cash” with songs and stories about Johnny Cash’s life.  A canteen will be available.  Tickets will sell for $8.00 each and can be purchased in advance.  Seating is limited so get your tickets early.  Contact Jean Schwartz for tickets and more information.

BREAKFAST BUCKET – A sincere thank you for March’s contributions to the BLT school Breakfast Program.  A cheque in the amount of $189.89 was delivered to the school.  They were very grateful and truly appreciate the ongoing support from St. Andrew’s Church.  The next Breakfast Bucket is on Sunday, April 28th.

CANCER SOCIETY – The Canadian Cancer Society needs volunteer canvassers for Timberlea, Lakeside and Beechville.  If you can canvass a street in April, please call Jinny Giza at 876-8510 and Jinny will be happy to deliver your canvassing kit.

25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY – St. Andrew’s Ladies Group will be celebrating 25 years of service to the church in May with a corporate communion.  All members past and present are invited to attend.  If there is anyone in the congregation that would like to help cater a lunch for this milestone, please contact Wendy at 443-4630.

ONGOING NOTICES

PWRDF – The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund acts on behalf of the Anglican Church of Canada to provide people around the globe with the ways and means to “help them help themselves”. Information and envelopes are available at the back of the church should you wish to contribute to this worthy ministry.

RECTOR’S OFFICE MEMORIALS – Memorial donations towards the construction costs of the Rector’s office are now being received.  Donations in the amount of $110.00 ($100 plus $10 engraving) will allow contributors to place a memorial on a plaque to be located outside the office.  There are twenty-four spaces for memorials.  Once all spaces have been filled we will dedicate the office in memory of those identified on the plaque.  If you wish to make a donation, please see either Rev. Mike or Rev. Judie.  Thank you for your generosity

CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS AND POSTAGE STAMPS – Thank you to those parishioners who regularly bring in the stamps and soup labels.  A grocery bag of each was taken in to the ACW office last week and added to a large pile of similar bags waiting for distribution.  Just a reminder the soup labels must be complete.  That means that the Whole Label as it comes off the can must be submitted, if not, the label will not be accepted.  Also, no staples or scotch tape can be used.  Thank you.

FOOD BANK – The St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Food Bank is always in need of canned fruit, canned meat, pasta, peanut butter, jam, crackers and pudding.  They are currently running short on the following food items:  boxes of cereal, cookies, and jello. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.
