90th Anniversary Celebrations
The kerosene oil heater you see on the Chancel steps was used to heat the porch of the old St. Andrews Church on Frasers Rd. and was donated by the Gilkie Family . The church was erected and used from 1905 to 1956. Perched on top is Miss Ruth Gilkies choir hat, which she was never seen without in her many years with St. Andrews Choir.
In keeping with our 90th Anniversary Celebrations, a one day Lenten Workshop on "Forgiveness" will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009. A registration poster has been placed at the back of the church. Please place your name and phone number on the poster if you plan to attend. The deadline for registration is today, February 22, 2009.
St. Patricks Day Variety Show: St. Andrews Hall. Sunday, March 15th at 7:00pm. Admission $6.90.
Signature Quilt Project: It is hoped that early in March (possibly March 1) we will have quilt blocks available and we can start collecting toonies and signatures.
Quilt Show and Sale September 26, 2009 in St. Andrews Church Hall. 10:00am to 4:00pm. Admission $3.00 (includes a cup of tea and a sweet). To date we have names of 19 people from the parish and community who have quilts to display. Remember: Condition does not matter, as a much-loved and well-used 140-year-old quilt will have many signs of wear. Quilts can be of any size - from doll quilts up to king size. Dont forget about quilted wall hangings. You have one more week to contact us about your quilt: Edith Steffens (876-7908 or stangcuda@yahoo.ca ), Emily Rhyno, Marion Boutilier or Donna Ruggles.
