BULLETIN BOARD

NEW NOTICES

AGM 2012 – MARCH 3, 2013 – All parishioners are reminded of the Parish AGM, which will take place following the 10:30 am service today.  We will meet in the hall and tea, coffee and a light lunch will be served.  AGM reports are available at the back of the church today, Sunday, February 24th.  Please take a copy and read it before the AGM.  As copies are limited, you are requested to bring the copy you take, back to the AGM.  Please find the time to attend our AGM.  This is the most important meeting of the year, when key business issues are addressed, including the finances of our parish. Also, the meeting affords all the opportunity to introduce an agenda item for discussion.  Finally, the AGM is the one time in the year when key positions are filled.  If you wish to nominate anyone for a position at the meeting, you are reminded to obtain their agreement to have their name put forward for a vote, before nominating them as a candidate.

BIBLE STUDY- The Bible Study Fellowship Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, 2 pm – 3:30 pm.  The March meetings are the 5th and the 19th, as we continue our study of the Letter to the Ephesians.    Rev Ron will be very pleased to see you!

LADIES GROUP – The Ladies Group will have their meeting on Friday evening, March 8, 2012, at 7 pm in the church hall this month.  This will be a FUN NIGHT.  Please bring your games and some munchies for the evening.  Hope everyone can join us! There will be no meeting on Thursday evening.

INCOME TAX RECEIPTS – Income Tax Receipts are available in the mail slots in the church entryway.  Please pick up yours today and if you can take a few extra to deliver that would be really appreciated.  It helps save the church the expense of postage.  Thank you.

BREAKFAST BUCKET – We give thanks for the members of the BLT Choir, leaders, families and friends who were part of our February 24th Morning Prayer Worship Service at St. Andrew’s Church.  It was truly a time of excitement, beautiful music and generosity on the part of so many.  Time, Talent and Treasure were joyfully shared that day.  Our Breakfast Bucket was filled to overflowing and $241.20 will make its way to the Beechville-Lakeside-Timberlea School Breakfast Program. Merci!

STORM POLICY – The following procedures will be implemented whenever inclement weather threatens the cancellation of church services:

  1. The Rector will call the wardens early morning to discuss the situation.  If all agree to cancel services, the Rector and wardens will act as follows.
  2. The Rector will install an announcement on the parish telephone voice message system.
  3. One warden will advise the radio station to make the announcement.
  4. The other warden will put the message on the parish web site.

Common sense will prevail, and parishioners are advised not to venture out on dangerous roads.  If it is not completely obvious that services would be cancelled, then parishioners can employ any or all of the above noted methods to discover whether or not services are cancelled.
*This policy was approved by council on March 8, 2012.

SCENT SENSITIVITY:  Just a reminder that NO SCENTS make GOOD SENSE!  Please be considerate of those in our congregation who have allergies and asthma.  Thank you.

ONGOING NOTICES

PWRDF – The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund acts on behalf of the Anglican Church of Canada to provide people around the globe with the ways and means to “help them help themselves”. Information and envelopes are available at the back of the church should you wish to contribute to this worthy ministry.

RECTOR’S OFFICE MEMORIALS – Memorial donations towards the construction costs of the Rector’s office are now being received.  Donations in the amount of $110.00 ($100 plus $10 engraving) will allow contributors to place a memorial on a plaque to be located outside the office.  There are twenty-four spaces for memorials.  Once all spaces have been filled we will dedicate the office in memory of those identified on the plaque.  If you wish to make a donation, please see either Rev. Mike or Rev. Judie.  Thank you for your generosity

CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS AND POSTAGE STAMPS – Thank you for your continuing support of two ACW projects:  Postage stamps and Campbell’s soup labels.  The requirement for stamps have been changed:  They no longer have to have ¼” margin of envelope around them; simply tear most of the envelope away, being careful not to tear the stamp.  The soup labels have to be complete and in one piece; that is, with no staples or Scotch tape.

FOOD BANK – The St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Food Bank is always in need of canned fruit, canned meat, pasta, peanut butter, jam, crackers and pudding.  They are currently running short on the following food items:  boxes of cereal, cookies, and jello. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.
