Rev. Ron will celebrate the 45th Anniversary of his Commissioning as an Officer of the Anglican Church Army in Canada, which took place on May 8, 1964, at St. James’ Cathedral, Toronto. A Church Army Sunday will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s Church on May 24, 10:30am. The Rev. Reginald MacDonald, a former Church Army Officer, will be the guest preacher. We look forward to a joy-filled time of celebration!

The Ways & Means would like to thank everyone for their contributions and help towards our Roast Pork Supper on May 9th. A total of $944.72 was raised.

90th Anniversary Celebrations

The kerosene oil heater you see on the Chancel steps was used to heat the porch of the old St. Andrew’s Church on Fraser’s Rd. and was donated by the Gilkie Family . The church was erected and used from 1905 to 1956. Perched on top is Miss Ruth Gilkie’s choir hat, which she was never seen without in her many years with St. Andrew’s Choir.

The updated history of St. Andrew’s Church has now been completed and can be viewed on our web site.

90th Anniversary Quilt Project: About 75 families have already put their names on blocks for the quilt. Today will be the last time that names and twonies will be collected after the 9 am service and before the 10:30am service

Campbell’s Soup Labels and Postage Stamps: About 3/4 of a pound of stamps, along with 114 soup labels, were dropped off at the ACW office this week. Thanks to those who have contributed labels and stamps, and please keep them coming.

PWRDF: There are inmemorium cards for the Primates Fund on the table at the back of the church. They are self explanatory and a worthwhile way of remembering friends or relatives as this fund assists people around the world.

The Sacred Heart Food Bank is in need of the following items: Peanut butter, jam, canned fruit, canned meat, soda crackers, tea, coffee, pancake mix, syrup, juice, ready made pudding and cookies.(no baby food please) Thank you for your continued support.
