NEW NOTICES

ADVENT PRAYER VIGIL – The Advent Prayer Vigil will be held on Saturday, November 27th from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the church.  Let us gather for 10 hours of continuous prayer bringing local, national and international concerns in both church and society before God.  We would be very pleased to see names in every hourly time block.

INTEGRITY EUCHARIST – The next Integrity Eucharist, followed by refreshments and conversation, will be held on Sunday, November 21st at the Cathedral Church of All Saints at 4:00 p.m.  Rev. Canon Eric Beresford, President of AST will be the homilist, and Rev. Stephen Laskey, Christ Church, Dartmouth will preside.  Integrity is a national organization of Anglican GLBT persons and their friends formed to encourage Christian GLBT persons in their spiritual lives.  Come who you are.  Come as you are.

RECTOR’S OFFICE MEMORIALS – Memorial donations towards the construction costs of the Rector’s office are now being received.  Donations in the amount of $110.00 ($100 plus $10 engraving) will allow contributors to place a memorial on a plaque to be located outside the office.  There are twenty-four spaces for memorials.  Once all spaces have been filled we will dedicate the office in memory of those identified on the plaque.  If you wish to make a donation, please see either Rev. Mike or Rev. Judie.  Thank you for your generosity.

MEN’S BREAKFAST – The next Men’s Breakfast will be held on Saturday, November 27th at 8:00 a.m.  Three people are needed to help set up at 7:00 a.m. and four people are required for clean up after the breakfast.  Please contact Don Schwartz at 431-4047 or puppadon@hotmail.com if you are able to help.

Mission to Seafarers – St. Andrew’s Ladies Group is collecting items for the Mission to Seafarers Shoeboxes again this year.  A
collection box has been placed in the porch area.  Items we are still in need of are as follows:  scarves, gloves/mitts, socks, notepaper, envelopes, pens, shampoo, razors, soap, toothpaste, shaving cream, wrapped hard candy.  The Mission does not need any women’s items this year and please note that they do not want chocolates or cookies.
Thank you to all that have already given to this worth while outreach project.

ONGOING NOTICES

Fall Book Study:  This fall the book study group will meet from 2:303:30 pm on Thursday November 11 and November 25 with Rev. Mike.  A question at the forefront for many of us on our Christian journey is: Why does there seem to be so much suffering in the world?  One of the great books written in response to this question is When Bad
Things Happen to Good People by Harold S Kushner.  It is my hope that our study of this book and our discussions together will lead us, in some way, to a better understanding of this question.  Those planning to attend who haven’t already signed up, please see Rev. Mike.

The two Bible Study Fellowship Groups – Monday evenings, 7 pm-8:30 pm (1st, 3rd & 5th), and Tuesday afternoons 2 pm-3:30 pm (1st, 3rd, & 5th) will be studying the Letter to the Hebrews.  Hebrews will help us to see how the Old and New Testaments are linked, how they are two parts of the same astonishing story!  Rev. Ron will be very pleased to see you!  The Tuesday group will meet on November 2, 16 and 30; the Monday group on November 1, 15 and 29.

Diocesan History Book 1710-2010 by Dr. Brian Cuthbertson.  This book is on sale for $35.00 per copy.  As a parish, if we order 20 or more copies, we can obtain them for $30 each.  If there is anyone who wishes to purchase a copy, please let me know. – Wendy (443-4630)
We are still waiting on the order to come in.  You will be notified as soon as they arrive.

PWRDF; There are memorial cards for the Primates Fund on the table
at the back of the church.  They are self explanatory and a worthwhile way of remembering friends or relatives as this fund assists people around the world.

Soup Labels and Stamps:  Thank you for your continuing support.  Soup Labels must be whole, and Stamps have a least ¼” of envelope around them.

FOOD BANK – The S. Marguerite Bourgeoys Food Bank is always in need of canned fruit, canned meat, pasta, peanut butter, jam, crackers and pudding.  Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.
