PHOENIX HOUSE – On November 1st baskets will be placed at the back of the church to collect items for their Christmas Wish List. Phoenix House helps youth between the ages of 12 and 24 who have no where else to go. Their Christmas Wish List includes some of the following: personal care items, candy, makeup, journals, agendas, mittens, hats, scarves, socks, blankets, gift cards for grocery stores, drug stores, movies, coffee shops, also bus tickets and prepaid phone cards. Please have all donations in by November 29th as they have to be delivered by December 4th.
MISSION TO SEAFARERS - St. Andrew’s Ladies Group is collecting items for the shoebox campaign for the Mission to Seafarers. The following is a list of what is needed: GLOVES/MITTS, WRAPPED HARD CANDY (NO CHOCOLATE), SOCKS, TOOTHPASTE, SHAMPOO, SHAVING CREAM, RAZORS, DEODORANT AND LYPSOL. We will be packing the boxes on Saturday, December 5th, at 10:00 am in the church. If anyone would like to help us, you are more than welcome. For more information contact any member of the group.
BREAKFAST BUCKET - Our next BREAKFAST BUCKET for BLT school will be Sunday, DECEMBER 6th and not November 29th. Thank you for your generosity to this Outreach Program during 2015. We will resume our Breakfast Bucket Sundays in January, 2016.
BULLETIN BACKUP – We are looking for someone to help with the bulletin when Wendy is unavailable. This person would be ready to jump in and take over the bulletin when Wendy is on vacation, ill, etc. You will be given the necessary tools and hopefully plenty of notice. CHILDREN’S SHOPPING EVENT - Once again, Parish Council will be sponsoring the fun filled Christmas Shopping event for children in our community and beyond. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, December 12th in the church hall from 10:00 until noon. Be sure to tell your friends, family and neighbors. Donations of new merchandise may be dropped off with Bev Higgins anytime leading up to the event.
CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING AND CAROL SING - Our 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Carol Sing will be held on Sunday, December 13th at 6:30 pm in the Church Parking Lot. Come and join us for an evening of fun and fellowship. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served in the hall afterwards.
CHURCH DECORATING - We will be decorating the church for Christmas on Saturday December 19th at 9:00 am. Anyone who would like to help is more than welcome. Many hands make light work!
SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PAGEANT – The children of the Sunday School will present “Benjamin’s Top “to the congregation on December 20th at the 10:30 am service. This is the story of a little shepherd boy who feels he has nothing to give to the baby Jesus! There will be a party for the children and the congregation following the service. If you would like to help provide some sandwiches or sweets for the party, please speak to Wendy.
ANNUAL MEETING – The Annual Meeting of the Parish will be held on January 31, 2016 with a snow date of February 7, 2016. All Annual Reports must be passed in to the Wardens by no later than January 7, 2016.
