BACK TO CHURCH WEEKEND – Saturday Breakfast – The Men’s Breakfast Group are pleased to extend an invitation to the whole congregation for breakfast on September 24th.  We will gather at the hall around 9am for breakfast at 9:30.  Make plans to gather as a parish family and share this breakfast together.

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY – SEPTEMBER 25TH – Parishes throughout the diocese will celebrate Back to Church Sunday on September 25th.  The idea for this celebration is that everyone in the congregation would invite one person to come to church with them on that day.  If we all did that, and everyone accepted we would double our congregation.  That would be great!!!!  But we are offering even more.  We’re making it Back to Church Weekend.  We begin Friday night with a pot-luck and social, come back on Saturday morning for breakfast compliments of the Men’s Breakfast Group and conclude on Sunday with worship, and you guessed it, more food and entertainment.  Thanks to the Spiritual Development Committee for making the arrangements.  Who will you invite?

RETURN OF THE BREAKFAST BUCKET – On Sunday, September 25th we will resume our Breakfast Bucket in support of the Beechville, Lakeside, Timberlea “Grab & Go” Breakfast Program.  On that day you have the opportunity to be part of this Outreach Ministry through your contributions of spare change.  The BLT school was most thankful for our amazing support last year.  “YOUR SPARE CHANGE MADE A BIG CHANGE IN MANY STUDENTS’ LIVES”……Marilyn Hamlin 876-7300 for further information.

ONGOING NOTICES

SIDES PERSONS – We are looking for people to volunteer as sides persons.  A sides person hands out the books and bulletins and greets the people as they arrive for church.  They take up the offertory and after church; they stay and count the offering.  If this is a job you would like to do, please contact Brenda Morash at 876-2389The more volunteers we have the fewer times your name will appear on the roster.

RECTOR’S OFFICE MEMORIALS – Memorial donations towards the construction costs of the Rector’s office are now being received.  Donations in the amount of $110.00 ($100 plus $10 engraving) will allow contributors to place a memorial on a plaque to be located outside the office.  There are twenty-four spaces for memorials.  Once all spaces have been filled we will dedicate the office in memory of those identified on the plaque.  If you wish to make a donation, please see either Rev. Mike or Rev. Judie.  Thank you for your generosity

PWRDF; There are memorial cards for the Primates Fund on the table at the back of the church.  They are self explanatory and a worthwhile way of remembering friends or relatives as this fund assists people around the world.

CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS AND POSTAGE STAMPS -Thank you to those who continue to drop off labels and stamps.  To those who have not yet contributed:  the labels must be complete (with no Scotch tape or staples), and stamps need to have a least ¼” of envelope around them.  We have recently received many stamps from foreign countries – the US, UK, Australia, etc. – which are most welcome; please keep them coming.  Sale of the stamps supports the Bible Society, while the soup labels provide amenities for Landmark East in the Valley.  Our stamps and labels are taken to the ACW office and they distribute them.

FOOD BANK – The St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Food Bank is always in need of canned fruit, canned meat, pasta, peanut butter, jam, crackers and pudding.  They are currently running short on the following food items:  boxes of cereal, cookies, and jello. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.
