KITCHEN COUNTY PARTY JAMBOREE – This will be held on September 28th at 2:00 pm at St. Andrew’s Church with “Cute as a Button” featuring Frank Grandy and Billy Bob and special guests. A “Free Will Offering” is the only charge and a canteen will be available.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS - The Sunday of October 5th we are going to do a special Blessing of the Animals service, for St. Francis Day. Rev Mark would like to invite everyone to bring a photo of their pets, or to actually bring their special critter to church (so long as being in a crowd wouldn’t frighten him/her). If anyone has a picture of a pet who was much loved but no longer with us, I’d love to see those pictures too, as they will always have a special place in our hearts. Along with special prayers, there will be a moment during the service when all our beautiful animal friends will be blessed, and thanks given for their amazing companionship and the love they bring to our lives.
THANKSGIVING SUNDAY – On Thanksgiving Sunday, October 12th, please bring in food items as in the past. All food collected will be donated to the Metro Food Bank in Halifax. The Sunday School children will place all items on the altar during the service. Thank you for your generosity.
170TH ANNIVERSARY – The Beechville Baptist Church will be celebrating their 170th Anniversary on October 3rd to 5th at 1135 St. Margaret’s Bay Rd. We have been invited to attend all their activities which consist of a Banquet on Friday evening, a Community Fair and Talent Show on Saturday and Sunday Worship Services at 11 am and 3 pm. More detailed information has been posted on the bulletin board at the back of the church.
ST ANDREW’S LADIES GROUP – We will be having a member of the Alzheimer’s Society of Halifax speak at our meeting on November 6th at 7 pm in the Church Hall. This is open to everyone in the parish.
