NEW NOTICES
CORNED BEEF SUPPER – Parish Council would like to thank all who helped in any way to make the Corned Beef and Cabbage Supper a success. We raised $969.00.
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE – As Thanksgiving is fast approaching please remember those less fortunate. On Sunday, October 7, we will be having our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for the food bank. Please bring a non-perishable food item or items to be placed in the church during our Thanksgiving service.
PIE FUNDRAISER – Nicole Chenell will be selling pies as a fundraiser for the church. They will sell for $6.00 each. Order forms are available at the back of the church. Delivery of the pies will be approximately the first week of December.
BREAKFAST BUCKET - Our first BREAKFAST BUCKET for BLT SCHOOL begins today. This outreach program for St. Andrew’s Church has provided the students with healthy early morning snacks, drinks and even toast and eggs on some occasions. With your spare change a child’s day can begin on a full tummy! This year the program is in need of some extra volunteers to help out in the preparation and in the distribution of the food. If you think you might have time once in awhile it would be greatly appreciated. You can contact Robin Sawler, Secretary of the BLT Grades 3-5 building at 876-3230. Robin is the coordinator of the Breakfast Program.
BIBLE STUDY – The Bible Study Fellowship Group will meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, 2 pm – 3:30 pm, in the Church Hall. Bible Study will be held on October 2 and 16. Our focus of study will be the Letter to the Philippians, the great Letter of “Joy”! Rev. Ron will be very pleased to see you.
OKTOBERFEST SUPPER – St. Andrew’s Ladies Group will be holding an Oktoberfest Supper on Saturday, October 13th from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 5-12 and under 5 free. An alternate meal of hotdogs and potato chips with ice cream cones for dessert will also be available. For more information, call Wendy at 443-4630.
CRAFT MARKET – A Craft Market will be held on November 24th from 9 to 2 pm at St. Andrew’s Church. Anyone wishing to purchase a table or tables please contact Darlene at 876-1795 or Jo-Anne at 443-0633.
MISSION TO SEAFARERS – St. Andrew’s Ladies Group will be packing shoeboxes for the seafarers for Christmas again this year. Items we will be looking for are as follows: warm hats, socks, gloves, scarves; personal items such as shaving gear, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo; writing paper, envelopes, pens; hard wrapped candy. A complete list of items will be in next week’s bulletin and a container to collect the items will be in the church porch. For more information, please contact any member of the group.
MEMORIAL HYMN SING – A Memorial Hymn Sing will take place on All Souls Day, November 2nd. More information will follow next week.
HOLY MANNERS AND PARISH LIST OF DUTIES – Council is now preparing to update both the Holy Manners Covenant and the Parish List of Duties (Who Does What); the latter is posted at the back of the church and copies of the covenant are also provided on the table at the back of the Church. Parishioners are requested to submit any updates, amendments or errors noted in these documents. This review is an annual exercise. It is hoped that by maintaining accurate and up-to-date documents that parishioners will take an interest and ownership in these two initiatives, which serve to enhance the management of the church and also benefit the members who devote their time and energy to make the church run smoothly. Please submit any recommendations to myself, Rick Orlando, or any other council member.
VIAL OF LIFE – The Vial of Life Program provides free bottles for all necessary information required in an emergency. These are free and we have placed a basket at the back of the church for you to take one home. There are 3 papers included that need to be completed with your medications, medical history and emergency contacts. When you complete these sheets, please put them back in the bottle and place in your refrigerator. Emergency technicians are aware of this service and will know to look in your refrigerator in the event of a 911 call.

ONGOING NOTICES
RECTOR’S OFFICE MEMORIALS – Memorial donations towards the construction costs of the Rector’s office are now being received. Donations in the amount of $110.00 ($100 plus $10 engraving) will allow contributors to place a memorial on a plaque to be located outside the office. There are twenty-four spaces for memorials. Once all spaces have been filled we will dedicate the office in memory of those identified on the plaque. If you wish to make a donation, please see either Rev. Mike or Rev. Judie. Thank you for your generosity
CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS AND POSTAGE STAMPS – Thank you for your continuing support of two ACW projects: Postage stamps and Campbell’s soup labels. The requirement for stamps have been changed: They no longer have to have ¼” margin of envelope around them; simply tear most of the envelope away, being careful not to tear the stamp. The soup labels have to be complete and in one piece; that is, with no staples or Scotch tape.
FOOD BANK – The St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Food Bank is always in need of canned fruit, canned meat, pasta, peanut butter, jam, crackers and pudding. They are currently running short on the following food items: boxes of cereal, cookies, and jello. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.
