Rector's Report

Alleluia! Christ is Risen.
This morning in the life of our parish we celebrate the Risen Lord in our worship in the sacrament of holy Baptism. We welcome into our parish family and Christ's Church the following individuals who now become disciples of our Lord.
Rhonda Morris Kaylea Morris
Devon Morris Taylor Morris
Sophie Ellen Boutilier

Throughout our lives as witnesses of Christ we seek to see and serve the Risen Lord in our daily lives. That service was evident in our parish this week. On Tuesday I was pleased to meet with Rev. Ron Walker and the Fellowship Bible Study Group as they wrapped another year of bible study. We celebrated as all good Anglicans do by sitting down and sharing a meal together. Many thanks to Rev. Ron for this ministry in our parish.

The Worship Planning Committee met to lay plans for the worship which takes place in our church. High on our list of priorities is the planning for a special service to mark fifty years of the PWRDF. This service takes place on May 3rd. Also as witness to the Risen Lord a special service of celebration will take place on May 24th marking forty five years of service for Rev. Ron in the Church Army.

Prayer group met on Wednesday morning to lift up the prayers and concerns for our parish family and God's world. On Wednesday evening I was pleased to be asked to celebrate Eucharist at St. Thomas Church in Fall River.

I was pleased also to represent our parish at two hospital visits. On Thursday evening I met with our parish wardens after which followed a meeting of the Parish Council. We give thanks for the effort and dedication of those who serve in this regard whose aim it is to see to the proper administration of parish matters and make plans for our continued witness.

I met with Doug Gillett and commend the work that he has agreed to begin to look at the ministries which take place in our parish to identify our strengths and to seek ideas as to how we build on what we have to make our ministry even stronger.

Thanks also to the witness of the men of the parish who put on the community breakfast on Saturday morning.

On Saturday evening an auction and dinner was held in my wife, Marian's parish. I was pleased to attend this event with her and join in fellowship with her congregation at St. Margaret's in Oakfield. Jesus often met with friends around a table at a meal so once more as is our custom we keep that tradition alive.

We give thanks also this morning for Elaine Michelle Adams and Paul Bernard Doucette who were united in holy Matrimony at a service, presided over by Rev. Judie, at St. Andrew's on Saturday evening.
