Rectors Weekly Report
Dec. 19th, 2010
Many thanks to Rev. Judie and Bill and members of the Ways and Means Committee for their effort in organizing the Christmas Country Jamboree at St. Andrew's last Sunday evening. The entertainers, including home grown talent from St. Andrew's, played to a full house. It was such a success we hope to do more in the future. Ye-haw! Y'all come back now ya hear.
I was pleased to attend to one hospital visit on Wednesday. Please remember those who are in hospital, or in long term care facilities in your prayers this holiday season.
If you receive the Chronicle Herald you would have noticed that several parishes, including our own, have posted their Church service times for Christmas. It appears under the Region of Fort Sackville, Anglican Churches. I was happy to make these arrangements on Thursday.
On Friday I, along with Marilyn Hamlin, and my wife Marian and a parishioner from her parish travelled to the medium security prison in Springhill to begin our work with an inmate who is soon to be released. We have four more meetings scheduled with the objective of being a support and a conduit through which this individual might make a reasonable transition back into society.
On Friday night Marian and I were pleased to attend the Ladies Group Christmas Party. I say in all honesty that this is one of the highlights of my Christmas season. Good food, good friends, a spirited rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas and a visit from Santa Claus makes for a most enjoyable evening. It also affords me an opportunity to express my thanks to the Ladies Group for all the work they do throughout the year.
Blessings, Rev. Mike
