Rector’s Weekly Report - Dec 28th 2008

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart; let the word of Christ dwell in you richly." Colossians 3: 15,16.

I hope you have enjoyed these past few days with family and friends as we continue our celebration of the Christmas season. Marian and I had her mom and daughter with us over Christmas and on Boxing Day drove them to Marian's brother's house in Hampton New Brunswick.
Today following the service we are to visit my children and grandchildren in Glace Bay.
This morning, as is often my custom, I want to give thanks. First of all to the Ladies Group and all who helped to make our churches so beautiful for our Christmas celebrations. Your hard work and dedication throughout the year are very much appreciated. To the altar guilds for all the extra work that they do at Christmas to keep the church clean and to prepare for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist I give thanks. To Edith Steffens and the choir for their extra work in providing beautiful music for our celebrations I give thanks. For Heather, Nicole, and Jo-Anne and the Sunday School, I give thanks for their ministry throughout the year and especially for their role in our Christmas Eve family service. And finally this week I want to give thanks to the parish for there acts of generosity to me and to the wider community. I do feel truly blessed to be the rector of this parish.
Don't forget to join us on New Year's day for a celebration of the Holy Eucharist followed by a New Years Levee.
May you enjoy God's blessing in this season of Christmas and throughout the year to come.

Rev. Mike
