~~~ HAPPY NEW YEAR ~~~
What a welcome to 2009!! It was disappointing that the New Year's day snowstorm forced us to cancel our Eucharist and levee but I hope that you were able to take advantage of the forced downtime and catch up on some rest and relaxation after the busyness of the holidays. It also helped some of us get on with our New Year's resolutions to exercise more as we gave our bodies and shovels a good workout.
We continue in the Christmas season this morning celebrating the feast of the Epiphany, the visit of the wise men to the baby Jesus. The actual date of the Epiphany is on the 6th which officially marks the end of the twelve days of Christmas.
As we near the end of the Christmas season and embark on a New Year let me repeat my thank you on behalf of Marian and myself to the parish and to all those whose expressions of kindness and generosity during the past year were very much appreciated.
As we now enter 2009 and celebrate at St. Andrew's ninety years of witness in this community let it be our resolution that we boldly proclaim God's kingdom and together set a path of continuing the work that we are called to do.
Blessings be upon you this new year.
Rev. Mike
