Rector's Report

Today we celebrate Trinity Sunday where we proclaim the relationship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit and recognize their oneness. Likewise our ministry as a Christian community is all about relationships and our oneness with one another and God.
We give thanks especially today for our Sunday School and for our teachers, Heather, Nicole and Jo-Anne. This is the last Sunday for Sunday School before the summer break and we will celebrate with a picnic immediately following the service at Rev. Judie's house.

I was pleased to exercise that ministry this week by helping to facilitate a Fresh Start group with clergy from the South Shore Region. Fresh start is all about relationship building and empowering one another for the task of serving.

Our regular meeting of Prayer Group met Wednesday morning to study God's word, to reflect, and to offer prayer for the concerns of our community and the world. In the evening I was pleased to be present at choir practice, the last before a summer break. Let us give thanks for our music ministry, for Edith Steffens our organist and all choir members.

On Thursday I was pleased to meet with Doug Gillett to discuss progress on the Futuristic Review we are doing for our parish. We are in the information gathering stage at this point and welcome input from every member and every group in our parish. We also discussed the St. Luke's property and hope to have a concrete plan of action ready for Parish Council's approval this Thursday.

I was pleased to visit the hospitals on Friday where one of our parishioners was a patient. On Friday evening I gathered with the Logan and Francis families at St. Andrew's for a wedding rehearsal.

On Saturday the wedding of Crystal Francis and Michael Logan took place at St. Andrew's. I ask your prayers for this couple as they begin a new life together.
As a community today we grieve the loss of Fonnie Miller who passed away Friday evening. I met with Angela Saturday afternoon to offer prayer on behalf of the parish and to insure her of our love and support as her family deals with their loss. Please keep them in your prayers.

A note that this Friday a meeting has been scheduled for the working group from St. Luke's. The meeting is scheduled for 9:30. Immediately following that meeting at 10:30 the visioning committee will meet.

May God bless each of us this day and always in the relationships we have with one another and with the God who creates us, redeems us and sustains us.

Rev. Mike
