Rectors Report

"Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being."
Baptismal Covenant - BAS pg 159
Your prayers are requested for Jonah MacDonald who receives the sacrament of Holy Baptism this morning.

Clericus met at St. Nicholas in Tantallon on Wednesday morning. Rev. Judie, Marilyn and myself were present for this monthly gathering of clergy from the region of Fort Sackville.

A funeral liturgy for Harold (Bud) Osborne Beaver took place at St. Andrew's on Wednesday afternoon. Please keep Una Beaver, her family and friends, in your prayers as they mourn Harold's passing. Thanks to Rev. Judie, Marilyn, Edith Steffens and the choir and the Ladies Group for their ministry of presence, music and hospitality to the Beaver family.

Rev. Judie and I presided at a committal of ashes for Elizabeth Kaizer on Thursday morning. This followed a funeral service that was held some time ago. Please remember the Kaizer family who were present as Elizabeth was laid to rest in her final resting place.

I was pleased to be present at a meeting of Parish Council on Thursday evening. Doug Gillett was present to update the council regarding a development plan that was drafted for the St. Luke's property. A copy of the plan is available for viewing in the Fellowship Room. The good news is the plan shows great potential, the bad news is there are still steps in the process that need to be completed before a sale is likely to take place. Doug has spent a tremendous amount of time and effort on this project and we give thanks for his leadership.

Kudos to Joanne Hanley and her team of volunteers who organized and put on the Mother's day soup luncheon on Saturday. The chowder was delicious and all indications are that the event was a great success.

May the knowledge of the presence of the Risen Christ inspire our hearts and minds into action in word and deed, that what we say and do may be a blessing to God's holy name.

Rev. Mike
